What we collect
- Contact and order details you give us: name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number, and what you ordered.
- Payment information. Card details are handled directly by our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
- Account details if you create an account: your email address and a password we store in encrypted form.
- Messages you send us, so we can help you and keep a record of the conversation.
- Technical and usage data collected automatically: IP address, device and browser type, and which pages you visit, through cookies and similar technologies.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To fulfil your order (take payment, ship it, handle returns and support). Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- To run and improve the shop and keep it secure and free of fraud. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.
- To send marketing emails, only if you signed up. Legal basis: your consent. You can unsubscribe from any email, at any time.
- To meet legal obligations, such as keeping accounting and tax records. Legal basis: legal obligation.
Who we share it with
We share only what is needed, with: Shopify, who host this store; our payment providers; our fulfilment and delivery partners; our email and analytics providers; and our accountant. We do not sell your personal information.
Some of these providers are outside the UK and the European Economic Area. Where that is the case, transfers are covered by approved safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the UK equivalent.
How long we keep it
Order and invoice records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, currently 7 years. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Support messages are kept for up to 3 years.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the site to work (such as remembering your basket), and, with your consent, cookies for analytics and advertising. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email info@bellcrofthome.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). In Belgium it is the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit (gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be).
Children
This store is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
